What Is CET-B.Ed. 2026?

CET-B.Ed. 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the Two-Year B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) and Shiksha Shastri programmes across all universities in Bihar that offer B.Ed. courses.

The exam is being conducted by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur — which has been nominated as the State Nodal University for this purpose by the Hon'ble Chancellor. This is, in fact, the first time this university has been entrusted with this important responsibility.

For the Two-Year B.Ed. Programme

You are eligible if you have:

Note: For Shiksha Shastri, the exam centre is fixed — it will only be held in Darbhanga.

Documents You Need to Keep Ready Before Applying

Before you sit down to fill the form, have these things ready. Trying to arrange them mid-way is where most people lose time or make mistakes.

  1. A working Email ID — This will be your Login ID for the entire process. Use one you regularly check.
  2. A mobile number — For OTP verification and SMS notifications.
  3. A recent passport-sized colour photograph — Scanned in JPEG format, size 35mm × 45mm, file size not more than 100 KB.
  4. Your signature — Done with a black ball pen on white paper, scanned in JPEG format, not more than 100 KB.
  5. Mark sheets — Matriculation (Class 10), Intermediate (Class 12), Graduation, and Post-Graduation (if applicable), all in JPEG format.

  9. SMQ (Service Men's Quota) Certificate — Only for Bihar residents; applicable to sons or unmarried daughters of servicemen.

Step-by-Step: How to Fill the CET-B.Ed. 2026 Application Form

Let's walk through this together.

Step 1 — Register on the Portal

Go to https://cetbed.ucanapply.com/ and click the "Login" button on the homepage. On the login page, look for the "New Registration" link and click it.

You'll see a registration form asking for your name, date of birth, gender, father's name, mother's name, email ID, mobile number, and password. Fill everything carefully.

A few things to note here:

  • Do NOT add titles like Mr., Mrs., Dr., etc. with your name. Just write the name as it appears on your Class 10 certificate.
  • Some fields need to be entered twice (like password and email) — both entries must match exactly, otherwise the form will show an error.
  • After filling the form, click "Sign Up." A confirmation pop-up will appear — click "Confirm."

IMPORTANT: Details submitted during registration — like your name, date of birth, gender, and category — CANNOT be changed later. Be extremely careful.

Step 2 — Activate and Validate Your Account

After registration, you'll receive an email from cetbedbrabu26@gmail.com with an activation link, and an OTP on your registered mobile number.

  • Click the activation link in your email.
  • Enter the OTP/activation code on the validation page.

If you don't find the email in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk folder. Mark the email as "Not Spam" and add the sender to your contacts so future emails reach you directly.

Your account is not active until you complete this step — don't skip it.

Step 3 — Login and Start Your Application

Once activated, go back to the portal and log in using your Email ID and password. After logging in, you'll land on your Dashboard. Click on "My Application."

Select your Programme Name from the dropdown (B.Ed. or Shiksha Shastri) and click "Proceed." A popup will show the eligibility criteria — read it, check the box confirming you've read the prospectus, and click "Add the Programme."

Step 4 — Fill the Application in Six Stages

The application is divided into six stages. You must complete them in order.

Stage 1 — Applicant Details: Fill in your personal information — name in Hindi and English, father's name, mother's name, state of domicile, nationality, category, Divyang status, date of birth, gender, minority status, identification number (last 4 digits of Aadhaar), marital status, permanent address, and correspondence address. Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory.

Stage 2 — Upload Photo and Signature: Upload your passport-sized photograph (JPEG, 4.5 × 3.5 cm, within 100 KB) and your signature (JPEG, within 100 KB). Your signature must be on white paper using a black or blue ball pen.

Stage 3 — Educational Details: Enter your Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, and Post-Graduation marks. For graduation, enter your total marks and marks obtained — the percentage will be calculated automatically. Upload the mark sheets in JPEG format.

Stage 4 — Document Upload: Upload your educational documents, Aadhaar card, and any applicable certificates (caste, Divyang, SMQ).

Stage 5 — Examination Centre Preference: Choose three cities from the list for your exam centre. Here are the available cities:

Ara, Bhagalpur, Chapra, Darbhanga, Gaya, Hajipur, Madhepura, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Purnea.

Note: The university will try to accommodate your preferences, but the final allotment is theirs to decide. No requests for centre changes will be accepted after allotment.

Stage 6 — Preview and Confirm: Review your entire form one final time. If anything looks wrong, edit it now. Once you click "Confirm & Submit," you cannot make any changes. This step is final.

Step 5 — Pay the Application Fee

After confirming, click "Proceed to Payment." Select your payment mode (Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI) and complete the payment. After successful payment, you'll see a confirmation message.

Wait at least 24 hours before following up on any payment-related issues. Check your email for the payment success confirmation.

Step 6 — Take a Printout

After successful payment, download and print your filled application form. Keep it safely — you'll need it at the time of counselling. Do NOT send this printout to the university or anywhere else.

Exam Pattern — What Will the Test Look Like?

The entrance test is two hours long and consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking, so you can attempt all questions without penalty. Answers must be marked on an OMR sheet using a blue or black ball pen.

The paper is divided into these sections:

Q&A — Your Most Common Questions Answered

Q: Can I apply for both B.Ed. and Shiksha Shastri through the same form? You will need to select your programme at the time of application. Check the eligibility carefully before choosing.

Q: I'm from outside Bihar — can I still apply? Yes, but you will not receive any reservation benefits. You must apply under the Unreserved (UR) category.

Q: I belong to BC category but fall under Creamy Layer. What category should I select? You must apply as Unreserved (UR). Creamy Layer candidates do not get reservation benefits.

Q: Can I change my name, gender, or category after submitting? No. Registration details like name, date of birth, gender, and category cannot be changed after submission — not even after payment. Be extra careful while filling these.

Q: Can I change my exam centre preference after submitting? No. Once submitted, centre preferences are locked. The university may also allocate a centre different from your preference, and no change requests will be entertained.

Q: My payment was deducted but the form doesn't show it as paid. What do I do? Wait at least 24 hours. If the issue persists, email the helpdesk at cetbedbrabu26@gmail.com, mentioning your registered email ID, phone number, and details of the transaction.

Q: Is the fee refundable if I don't appear for the exam? No. The fee is entirely non-refundable under all circumstances.

Q: Does passing the entrance test guarantee my B.Ed. admission? No. Qualifying the test and participating in counselling does not guarantee admission. Final admission happens only after verification of all original marks sheets and certificates as per eligibility criteria.

Q: I haven't received the activation email. What should I do? Check your Spam or Junk folder for an email from cetbedbrabu26@gmail.com. Mark it as "Not Spam" and add the address to your contacts. If you still haven't received it, contact the helpdesk.

Q: Can I login via WhatsApp? Yes, the portal offers a "Continue with WhatsApp" option on the login page as an alternative login method.

Q: What is the helpdesk number and email? Phone: 01141169760 | Email: cetbedbrabu26@gmail.com Helpdesk hours: Monday–Friday (10 AM to 8 PM), Saturday (10 AM to 4 PM), excluding holidays.

Common Mistakes — And How to Avoid Them

These are the mistakes people make most often. Read them once and save yourself a lot of trouble.

Mistake 1: Entering the name incorrectly during registration Many applicants add "Mr.", "Mrs.", or "Dr." before their name, or write it differently from their Class 10 certificate. The name must exactly match your high school certificate, without any title or prefix.

Mistake 2: Using the wrong email ID Your email ID becomes your permanent Login ID. If you use a temporary or rarely-checked email, you'll miss important communications including the admit card and result. Use a personal Gmail or similar account you check daily.

Mistake 3: Selecting the wrong category Once you pay the fee, your category cannot be changed. Students in BC/EBC Creamy Layer who mistakenly select BC/EBC instead of UR, or students from outside Bihar who select a reserved category, face serious issues at counselling.

Mistake 4: Uploading photos or signatures in the wrong format The photo and signature MUST be in JPEG format and under 100 KB. Many students accidentally upload PDFs or PNGs and get stuck. Use a phone scanner app to convert and compress the image before uploading.

Mistake 5: Submitting without previewing Once you click "Confirm & Submit," edits are not possible. Several applicants have noticed errors in their educational details or address only after submission. Always use the preview stage to check everything carefully.

Mistake 6: Closing the browser mid-payment If your internet connection drops during payment or you close the browser, wait 24 hours before attempting to pay again. Check if the payment was already processed by clicking "Check Previous Transactions" on the payment page.

Mistake 7: Not saving the registration details Many students forget their password or registration number after applying. Write down your Login ID (email), password, and application number somewhere safe. You'll need these to download your admit card.

Mistake 8: Assuming counselling equals admission Simply qualifying the exam or attending counselling does not confirm your seat. Admission is final only after original document verification. Make sure all your certificates are genuine, consistent, and available.

Mistake 9: Entering CGPA instead of marks percentage The form asks for marks obtained and total marks separately. If your graduation result is in CGPA, convert it to percentage using your university's official formula before entering it. The system calculates the percentage automatically once you enter marks.

Mistake 10: Waiting until the last day Server loads increase significantly on the last day. Technical errors, payment gateway failures, or slow internet can prevent submission. Apply at least 3–4 days before the 18 May deadline.

Final Words

CET-B.Ed. 2026 is your gateway to building a career in education — one of the most meaningful professions there is. The process is straightforward once you know what to do, but the details matter a lot. Take your time, double-check every entry, keep your documents ready, and don't leave things for the last day.
